eBAY FIND- Jan 2010 USA - maireener shells
SELLER'S NOTE: This is an incredible delicate micro maireener shell necklace … My pictures do not do the necklace justice in the shimmering opalescent greens & purpilish pinks these were made in the late 1800's early 1900's by the aboriginal palawa people of Tasmania these lovely shells are quite scarce now and hard to find. These shells are dainty and all measure under .25 of an inch long. I found about 5 damaged shells that to not take away from the value of the piece and it took some long looking to even find them EBAY LINK # 360224009124
eBAY Find – Jan 2010 USA LA - maireener shells
AMBIGUOUS AUTHENTICITY
SELLER'S NOTE: This is a very vivid and exceptionally opalescent, Maireener Shell necklace, estimated to be from the late Victorian or Edwardian era. This necklace is 13 1/2" long with shells that measure 7mm x 4mm on average. These shells are tiny and delicate but still have quite an impact because of their vibrancy and color. The shells are not faded or dried out at all. The color is a very opalescent green with bright shimmers of pink and lighter green. The piece closes with a nice push barrel clasp that works smoothly and closes securely and the necklace is strung on cotton string. The piece was recently restrung but the strand is original. The shells are all intact without any chipping or breaking on any of the shells and they are very silky smooth to the touch. Overall this is a very vivid and exceptionally opalescent, Maireener shell necklace, estimated to be from the late Victorian or Edwardian era that is in Excellent condition......
